MY LATEST RESEARCH

Silicene, is a hexagonal structure sintetized in 2012. In this study we used this material as a DNA sequencing device.  The figure above is Adenine on top of Silicene in a STM simulated image using Tersoff-Hamann approximation. For a deep details about this project click in read more.

Graphene is an amazing material because it's properties (semi-metal, large surface area, mechanics properties). In this project we investigated a graphene nanogap as a device for indentify nucleobase through tunneling meachanism of sensing.
